Boynton Beach officials will be very excited to dig into the dirt Thursday morning because it represents the ground-breaking ceremony of the highly anticipated 500 Ocean residential/retail project.
The event starts at 10 a.m.
500 Ocean will be built at Federal Highway and Ocean Avenue. The project calls for 341 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, which are to be up to a special green building certification, more than 6,000 square feet of office space and three electric vehicle charger stations.
The CRA board approved a $4.39 million incentive package for the project.
City officials say they hope the development will bring other businesses to the downtown area.
