Mark Karageorge, a former board member of the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, was honored Tuesday night by CRA staff.
"We've been very blessed to have Mark Karageorge sit up here with us," said CRA executive director Vivian Brooks. "His knowledge of economic development of housing has been invaluable...He's really been for the citizens of Boynton Beach."
Karageorge, who resigned from the board in May to avoid a conflict of interest, was given an Appreciation Award from the agency.
"I am humbled honored and thrilled to receive this recognition," said Karageorge. "During those nine years we got a lot done. And there's still a lot more to do."
Karageorge said throughout his CRA career, he "put God first, I put my family second and I put my community third." He recommended the board members do the same.
"Your service was excellent when you were on the board and I know that it's not over; that you'll always be involved in this community," said Mayor Jerry Taylor.
