Today a family of four will receive the keys to their new Boynton Beach home in the Ocean Breeze West community. The Jean-Baptiste family is the last of 21 to move into the low-income housing community in the Heart of Boynton.
A dedication ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the home off Seacrest Boulevard, north of Boynton Beach Boulevard.
Ocean Breeze West is a redevelopment project that broke ground in January 2012. The property previously was part of Boynton Terrace, a multi family, Section Eight, 9-acre housing development that was destroyed by back-to-back hurricanes in 2004. Boynton's Community Redevelopment Agency saw the area as a redevelopment priority.
The homes were built by Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County and the faith-based Community Development Corp.
