Why Boynton Beach?

Boynton Beach is the third largest city in Palm Beach County. The area that became Boynton Beach was first explored in 1894 by Civil War Major Nathan Boynton. He was so impressed with the weather and beautiful beaches that he built the famous Boynton Hotel in 1897. On September 26, 1898 Fredrick Sidney Dewey and Byrd Spilman Dewey founded the original Town Of Boynton; in 1920 Boynton was incorporated. In 1931, the Community renamed the Town of Boynton to Boynton Beach. The hotel was torn down in 1925, Addison Mizner designed the Boynton Beach Woman’s Club building that is still in use today and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
